This is the year will be the year of learning new things. Decorating my new home. Learning how to play guitar. Learning how to reupholster and finally learning how to make those oh so wonderful and oh so yummy French macaroons.
I also have a list of books I must read this year and movies I must watch. I will attempt to read one book a month if I can! I will also like to document my house transformation and before and after photos and watching our house go from o.k to AWESOME!!! with the help of my friends and fellow bloggers.
So here it goes my first blog of 2012. Lets hope that this streak of inspiration will continue through the rest of the year.
cheers and happy 2012!!!

Teachers must have!
Teaching does not have to be all work and no fun. I personally I love all things cute and nicely packaged. I'm such a sucker for packaging. I love all things vintage, especially when it comes to teaching. Stickers, pens, pencils, folders, agendas and books.
Here are some of my favourite things and must have to make your class unique and fun.

First year teaching
So its been about 6 months that I have been teaching and its been a roller coster of emotions! Happy, nervous, excited, angry, lost & confused and just plain old tired. The first year of teaching can be a juggling act. You need to figure what kind of classroom you want to have and how you want to run it. Are you a naturalist, artistic, creative, teacher or you more paper and pencil who runs a tight ship. What ever the case maybe you need to figure it out to help make your life as stress free as possible.
Trying to figure out what type of teacher you want to be may take a while. I have learned not to try to take on so much and like The Beatles once said, Let it be! . I have learned sometimes you need to accept things don't always go as plained, i.e. lesson plans and you need to just go with it. You need to not take on so much and try to work with what you have. Don't be a super hero and try to be the best teacher you can be and to have fun. Many teachers loss their passion for teaching along the way in their career, which is so sad. Some where along the way they forget the reason why they chose to be teacher. And forget that teaching is a calling, not just a job.
